Waking up looking out at the mountains in one of the 76 rooms and suites at the Relais & Châteaux hotel is just the beginning of your break at Les Barmes de l’Ours… Designed with high-quality, authentic materials, the hotel wins over its guests thanks to its privileged situation at the foot of the mythical Face de Bellevarde, its artist’s soul and its family atmosphere… And to top it all off, the hotel houses one of the lveliest Spas in the French Alps… A brief interlude relaxing in our 1,000-m² spa facility that bears the prestigious name of Valmont.
Inaugurated in 2003, the hotel Les Barmes de l’Ours was born out of an immense love of the mountains. This family hotel at the foot of the ski slopes provides a comprehensive offer in a combination of gourmet dining, relaxation, well-being and a love of sport.
The hotel features 4 different styles: the Scandinavian spirit, the lodge from the far north of the Americas, the alpine chalet and the contemporary loft.
The hotel has reinvented itself every season since its creation in tandem with local crafts people, while retaining its feel of a mountainside hotel in Savoie. Considerable importance is given to the decoration, the woodwork and the rough stonework, as well as the balance between tradition and modernity.

Eleven spacious suites are devoted to families, offering living spaces and privacy in a welcoming atmosphere to get back to what is truly important during your winter holidays. Comfy slippers, little dressing gowns and cuddly toys to fall gently into dreamland, those little extras lavished on our youngest guests every time they stay with us, bringing them a moment of comfort and reassurance after a day on the slopes.

Open all day, it turns into a veritable drop-in centre during the school holidays from 4 to 9 p.m. with play workshops supervised by our children’s monitor offering a few moments of fun away from it all. The little terrors will be able to explore topics such as “space”, “animals” or “the circus” as they make masks, planet pendants or go on visits to the Ferme de l’Adroit!
• Explore our games area for children from 12 y.o devoted entirely to having fun! Laughter reaches out as far as the bar area where parents can enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail with an easy mind: the children are only a step away, focussing on a virtual challenge around the 4 PlayStations! Ideal for sports enthusiasts who want to enjoy the snow intensely, this room guarantees a comfortable stay once back at the hotel.
Stay in a Scandinavian decor full of sweetness. This room of 25m² offers a large bed and a beautiful bathroom for a quiet winter holiday.
Comfortably equipped with twin beds (which can be pushed together to form a double bed on request), this room offers a view of the Les Carats neighbourhood behind the hotel. It has a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. The WC is separate.
This room, with its large bed, enjoys generous exposure to sunlight at various times of day and provides a unique view over the mountains and the old village. It has a bathroom with a bathtub, shower and separate WC.
This room can be made into a communicating room
Disconnect from your daily life as you push open the doors of this junior suite. With its southern exposure, this luxurious suite offers you a view over the ski resort and the Face de Bellevarde, the legendary Olympic slope at Val d’Isère. With a welcoming king size bed, it opens on to a comfortable lounge area, offering a lovely living space bathed in natural light. Its bathroom comes with a balneotherapy bathtub, a shower and separate WC.
Still in the family feel, this suite can communicate with a classic or superior room or with a Prestige Suite.
Overlooking Val d’Isère, the Prestige Suite opens on to a panoramic view over the village and its mountains. From the balcony, you can enjoy a timeless moment facing the vastness of the surrounding mountain tops. With a surface area of 60 m², this refined setting includes a large bedroom with king size bed and mountain views and a sitting area with comfortable sofas and armchairs to entertain yourself or unwind after a day on the slopes. Some of our Prestige Suites have a sliding door between the bedroom and the sitting room. The spacious bathroom comes with a balneotherapy bathtub, a shower and separate WC.
This suite can also communicate with a Junior Suite.
It has a parental suite comprising a large king size bed, in addition to a bathroom with balneotherapy bathtub, a shower and WC. The children’s section of the suite comprises either 2 bunk beds in an alcove in the lobby or a small bedroom with 2 bunk beds and a single bed for children under 12. It has a shower room and separate WC. A sitting area completes these suites so that you can share some unique moments.
Because each family stay is a privileged moment, we have designed our family suites to provide you with all the comfort and privacy you need to make every stay unforgettable. Blessed with an extraordinary view over Val d’Isère and its mountains, the 80-m² suite comprises a parental suite with a king size bed, a balneotherapy bathroom, a shower and WC.
As for the children, they have their own room containing two bunk beds (or an extra single bed, depending on the configuration), in addition to a shower room and separate WC. A comfortable sitting room can be found alongside the two bedrooms for spending moments with the family, enjoying reading a book borrowed from the shelf or a film available on the TV’s video on demand facility.
